The Snug
Our Snug is informally presented and is designed to be family friendly.
Appealing particularly to families the room is our largest single area and incorporates family friendly elements around many original historic features. The room serves as both a cafe bar and a restaurant area.
Child Friendly
For childrens' entertainment, we have dedicated an alcove and decorated this with a large, heritage family scene. On to the part panelled walls are installed kids activity centres. A large, wall mounted screen can play either vintage footage of historic Morecambe, music videos or other themed presentations.
Around the walls are multiple power sockets and WiFi is available to patrons.
Within the large sandstone fireplace we have installed a glass fronted, real flame fire, further screened by a fireguard. The fire is lit based on season.
For convenience, the room has it's own bar section. On fine days you can use a convenient rear door to access the enclosed garden and children's playground.
Original features
Many original features have been retained in this former coaching inn. Newer additions are generally in the Georgian character such as the part paneled walls. The sash windows are the refurbished originals, and the sills are solid oak and the new flooring is also in oak.
Did you know that the Snug was a favorite place for comedian Albert Modley to relax with a drink in the 1950s when it was in fact a men only area for many years.
